AHMF 2020 National Motoring Tour - Saturday 28th March to Friday 3rd April 2020
Australian Historic Motoring Federation (AHMF), Australia's peak historic motoring body, is hosting a major National Tour with the intent of attracting Veteran Vintage and Classic motoring clubs Australia wide, the government and the media, to Albury-Wodonga during the period Saturday 28th March to Friday 3rd April  2020.
This is the first major National all-make event since the highly successful 2001 Canberra based rally. Enjoy and promote Australia's historic motoring with touring options designed for a variety of vehicle types and eras from Veteran through to 1990 vehicles.
National Events are extremely rare these days. The planning and compliance demands have increased dramatically, however Australian Historic Motoring Federation Inc, with the assistance and support of the State and Territory Councils, will provide a world class event for its members, international guests and invited guests.
Albury and Wodonga City Councils have been consulted and venues selected. The surrounding localities provide for spectacular drives for all classes of vehicle, to ensure the most inclusive event for all participants and their vehicles.
We will provide opportunities for the public, local Schools and Community Groups to enjoy the spectacle of this vast variety of historic vehicles. Local schools will cater morning teas and lunches, along with support services, to ensure our tour integrates with all communities along each route. A public display, viewing of historic local Army and Immigrant facilities with be highlights for entrants to enjoy.
Invitations are issued to all sectors of Australian Historic Motoring, including Veteran, Vintage and all Historic Classic decades. The event will be promoted to International clubs of similar purpose.  Our intention is for AHFM to host an affordable and fun event for all to attend.
This event is open to all historic vehicles, 30 years and older. The following are being catered for:
•     Veteran - up to and including 31/12/1918
•     Vintage - 1/1/1919 to 31/12/1930
•     Post Vintage - 1/1/31 to 31/12/1949
•     Historic 50's, 60's 70's and 80's
•     Tractors
•     Commercial vehicles
•     Motorcycles
•     Historic caravans
•     Promotions for entrant drivers under 25 years of age.
•     Historic machinery will be on display at the open day also.
Traction machineryLater model vehicles will not be hindered by older and slower vehicles and visa versa therefore, vehicles will be divided into 5 groups. The veteran vehicles, historic motorcycles, etc will all travel the same roads - but not on the same days.
We are in discussions with organisers and owners of historic caravans, ensuring we have a strong representation of historic caravans. Historic Motorcycles groups will also be encouraged to participate, along with historic tractors and stationary machinery taking part in our Public Display.
The scope of this event and the planned interaction with all sectors cannot be underestimated. This will be an important event for the Australian historic motoring movement and partners, with media coverage, via print, radio and television being sought daily.
The assistance of Victoria and NSW Police has been sought with cooperation assured. Where necessary, the organising team will be in daily communication with police to ensure the best outcome for all.
Participants will be encouraged to travel to Albury and Wodonga from all States and Territories in a manner which will make this event a worthy demonstration to the public and to State and Federal Governments that the Australian Motoring Enthusiast has preserved Australian Motoring History for themselves and all Australians, and in doing so, has supported and continues to support the Australian economy on many levels.
