The Canberra
100 Rally is an opportunity for all the members of the historic vehicle movement
to celebrate our national capital, Canberra's 100th Birthday.
AHMF
Affiliated Councils will be organising runs from each state and territory to
converge on Canberra for this Rally.
The initial Canberra 100 flyer has been removed from the website pending
signing of contracts and the full launch of the event.
As at the 21st Jan 2012 the following has been
agreed:
-
The Council of ACT Motor Clubs definitely
endorses the event and recommended that the AHMF do likewise.
-
Bill Lewis (blewis@homemail.com.au)
has been appointed to the NTA Canberra 100 Rally committee (the
'committee') as the AHMF member.
-
At NTA request, Bill Lewis has co-opted two
Council of ACT Motor Clubs committee members (Sue Walker, Dave Rogers)
and one previous CACTMC Committee member (Graham Gittins) to the
'committee'.
-
Detailed planning for the event will
commence once the Deed is signed.
-
A 'Deed Signing' event with the ACT Chief
Minister, NTA and AHMF representation will be conducted with historic
vehicles on display (ie a 1913 T Model Ford, Historic motorbike, ACT
1939 Chev 'Pie Cart', etc)
-
Current draft proposal is for a 'hub Rally'
with separate elements starting in Jervis Bay, Yass, Goulburn and Cooma;
entering Canberra on 19 Oct for activities 19/20 Oct in Canberra.
Other activities before and after the main event may occur.
