National Motoring Heritage Day (NMHD)
National Motoring Heritage Day is a day where members of clubs affiliated with
the state councils which are part of the Australian Historic Motoring Federation demonstrate the strength of the Australian
historic motoring enthusiast movement. The AHMF hopes to have up to 200,000 vehicles from the 900 plus AHMF affiliated vehicle clubs on the road on the same day around Australia.
The National Motoring Heritage Day is an initiative of the Australian Historic Motoring Federation (AHMF) to show the flag and demonstrate the strength of the motoring enthusiasts’ movement in Australia by having up to 200 000 vehicles from the
900 plus vehicle clubs affiliated with the AHMF through their state and territory bodies, on the road on the same day around Australia.
The Event
- Date: The next NMHD will be held on 15th May 2011
(always the third Sunday in May)
- Official Name: "National Motoring Heritage Day – a salute to Australian motoring".
- Location: affiliated clubs will conduct hundreds of events Australia wide
on the day
- The Events: can be as simple as encouraging club members to
drive around for a couple of hours or as elaborate as state councils and
clubs wish to make them.
- Support: The AHMF will support the day by ...........
- Sponsorship: The AHMF is attempting to arrange a National Sponsor
for the days activities, however state councils and clubs are free to
arrange any additional sponsorship that does not conflict with the major
sponsor.
